Dining chairs fail for two reasons: they do not clear the table, or too many are crammed along the edge. Both are solved with a tape measure before you order.
Chairs in this collection sit at a seat height of roughly 17 to 19 inches, and you want 10 to 12 inches between the seat and the underside of the tabletop. Standard dining tables are about 30 inches high, so most pairings work. Measure anyway if your table has a thick apron, a trestle, or a pedestal foot that chair legs could collide with.
Chair widths here range from about 17 to 26 inches. Allow roughly 24 inches of table edge per person so nobody is knocking elbows. Arm chairs need more room and often will not tuck under a table with a deep apron, so armless side chairs are the safer choice for a tight dining nook. A common approach is arm chairs at the two ends and side chairs down the length.
Upholstered fabric and boucle make up most of this collection and feel warmer through a coastal winter. Top-grain leather is the easier surface to wipe clean, which suits family dinners, and there is a smaller selection of it here. Cane and open wood backs keep a small room feeling light rather than boxed in. Most frames are solid wood or metal.
